However, this didn\u2019t happen, because our tax code is weird: marriage, the mortgage interest tax deduction, local property tax deduction, and the student loan interest deduction do good things for people who can take advantage of them. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nathanhunstad.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/the-grand-tax-reform-bargain\/#more-225\" target=\"_blank\">I think they are absurd<\/a>, but until the rules are changed this is the tax code we have.<\/p>\n<p>Given how wrong I was last year, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll make any predictions for 2014.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, it\u2019s time for my now-annual blog post on tax incidence!
