The long-term deficit isn\u2019t hard to understand: it\u2019s caused by health-care benefits that are out of whack with taxes. It\u2019s really that simple. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/wonkblog\/wp\/2013\/02\/18\/have-seniors-really-paid-for-medicare-and-social-security\/?wprss=rss_ezra-klein\" target=\"_blank\">Medicare is not paid for<\/a>. And if we don\u2019t raise taxes, <a href=\"http:\/\/dyn.politico.com\/printstory.cfm?uuid=55942FA3-8427-4CFC-978F-FF5B7B672031\" target=\"_blank\">we will have to cut benefits for the elderly<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So what\u2019s it going to be? Higher taxes or Medicare cuts?
