Guy steals $69,000 of money that isn\u2019t his, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philly.com\/philly\/news\/breaking\/20120522_Bucks_man_find_extra__69K_in_account__charged_with_spend_most_of_it.html?cmpid=124488459\" target=\"_blank\">gets arrested<\/a> and charged with felonies. Guys steal $1.6 billion of money that isn\u2019t theirs in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/blogs\/taibblog\/jon-corzine-is-the-original-george-zimmerman-20120424\" target=\"_blank\">essentially the same way<\/a>, and everybody just sits around hemming and hawing. As the article says, this isn\u2019t complicated like JP Morgan: customers deposit money, money is stolen from accounts to cover debts. So far, though, nobody has been charged with 20,000 felonies. Or even one.<\/p>\n<p>With this, JP Morgan, the hilariously botched and now <a href=\"http:\/\/dealbook.nytimes.com\/2012\/05\/22\/facebook-i-p-o-raises-regulatory-concerns\/?hp\" target=\"_blank\">investigated<\/a> Facebook IPO, and Europe debating whether to continue to bleed the anemic patient, it\u2019s hard reading the news these days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m pretty much blatantly ripping off Atrios for this one, but it is what it is: just incredible.
